Your Hosts  

Your hosts are Boris and Carol, we have owned Mermaid Units since 1998 and live on site.  Mermaid Units are our home as well as our business. 

 

Carol and myself love entertaining and meeting new people so Mermaid provides the perfect setting.  Carol is the head gardener, decorator, photographer, tour guide and crowd controller. I am in charge of  entertaining, fishing, all sports, the mower, watering and the pool.  Together we seem to have struck the right balance so things normally run pretty smoothly.

I was born in Wangaratta and lived most of my life in Canberra, an ex footballer and electrician. Carol was born in Cooma and grew up in Coffs Harbour before spending time farming around Shepparton until finally settling here in Merimbula.

 

Mermaid Units were built in the 60s. Since then they have gone through many changes and improvements to arrive at what you see today. Originally there were six two bedroom units but later a large one bedroom unit, the pool, BBQ area and garage were added on. Unit 5 then became the owners residence with an upstairs extention completing the renovations.

 

Since Carol and myself have been here we have continually upgraded and improved but still kept to the original theme of a relaxed and comfortable setting. The units are very cosy and offer all one needs in creature comforts. Full kitchen, lounge, bathroom, queen beds, TVs Video, DVDs etc, the list goes on.

Both Carol and myself see Mermaid continuing on for many more years to come.

 

We believe there is always a place for our style of accommodation.  Having travelled extensively ourselves we recognize the benifits of having a large garden and entertaining area where the kids can play or you can just sit and feed the birds enjoying the mild Merimbula weather.
